Carnaby oh Carnaby what to do with you? I finished this skirt ages ago but never actually seamed it. You are meant to put in a button band and use buttons to close it, but buttons holding together a skirt seemed like a really bad idea so I planned to just add decorative buttons after the fact. So I seamed it closed but it is not quite snug enough. Anyone have any ideas on how to snug up the top and still have me able to pull it on and off? I tried machine sewing an elastic and that failed, but hand sewing one might work. Ideas? Suggestions?

how about some crocheted belt-loops? you could do them on the inside or the outside, depending on whether you want a visible belt.
And then use just a regular belt with it? That might be crazy enough to work!
