Things have been a bit rough over here for the past couple months. On December 9th, the Mr. and I were in a car accident and I sustained 5 finger fractures along with a host of ligamentous/soft tissue injuries. My hand is undergoing therapy/rehab now, and some slow progress is being made but I still don't have very good functional use of it yet. I have been on light duty with a modified work schedule for the past month (was out for the previous month). And with this loss of productive occupation I have been engaging in more leisure occupations, especially crafting as it allows me to feel some sense of accomplishment/completion. Crafting takes me longer than it used to and I can't do it for as long as previously, but I enjoy what I have churned out.
On Sunday I did venture over to Ms. Cleaver's house with Bristol for an afternoon of sewing (although Bristol cheated and brought knitting). I completed 4 placemats which I think will be just perfect for eating outdoors in the summer. The pattern is Simplicity 3695.
I think I will make another set in more subdued colours to use in our dining room (our dining room is a stone green and we have sage/cream/burnt orange plates).
